02/27/11 II Corinthians 5;17

This painting is a drastic change from my usual. It is a religious interpretational painting. II Corinthians 5;17 : Therefore if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. The old has passed away, the new has come. My interpretation of this scripture is that if we live as Christ does in the Bible, then we become new. By becoming open to all our gifts and using them as Christ tells us in the Bible and being thankful for all (good and bad) He gives us, we will become one with the trinity.
This painting will be entered in a contest that asks the artist to paint this scripture. I'm not sure that I am completely finished with this work but I am pleased with what I have so far.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog. Any comments are most welcome.

  1. There are many things that I like about this painting. First of all, I like the size and shape of the canvas, as it is very vertical. I like the blue background, and how dramatic it is.....gradually getting moving from deep blue to a soft, cloud-like color. There is alot going on here...my eye moves from the nest (like the colors and texture in the grass/sticks) up to the birds at the top of the canvas. I like your interpretation of the scripture, and it all gives us something to think about. Good luck on entering the exhibit!
