Went to a shop (Decorati ,203A E. Virginia) in McKinney,Tx. today to see where they had my paintings and Kay's wall cabinet. Everything looked great. They have reasonable prices and best of all, they want more of my paintings!
It is a tiny shop - about 8 feet across!

I know you are tired of seeing these paintings but I am FINALLY FINISHED. Now Jett just has to dry before I give him to his mom. She will be pleased. Tyler has to get framed and used in an August show. THEN his mom will have a chance to get him.

I added a few "under the sea" things to Tyler's hat but I haven't finished them yet. I have eyes and stripes and sea weed to add as well as some more creatures. He is going to be entered in the Mac "15" show so I have to get 15 sea creatures on that tiny cap without smearing them! Wish me luck!
Got the natural lights on my side of the studio yesterday! Makes all the difference in the world!
Finally got Jett's face (one eye looks too large) but the dang stripes on the beach towel are about to make me loose my religion! I do a few stripes and then I have to stop to let them dry or I'd have them smeared ALL over.

I have NEVER enjoyed painting a portrait as much as I have this little" lovey." I do still have a little definition to add to the letters and some decoration on his hat still left to finish. I should be through by next Tuesday because I'm working on several pieces at once. Don't you think he's precious? When I finish, I'll put up the reference photo so you can see how adorable he is for real!

Didn't get much done at the studio today, in fact, I left early! Everything I wanted to work on was too wet so I was going to start two new paintings but my reference was so small that I needed to blow up the picture to even start. I left Kay working hard and that was it for me for the day!

This little guy is so much fun to work on ........... I smile the whole time I'm painting! ( he makes everyone laugh or at least comment at the studio) Still have quite a bit to do before I'm through. In fact, Tyler is so cute that I'm going to take some artistic license and change his hat to have 15 little fish on it so I can enter it in the MAC show celebrating 15 years! Then I will let the parents have the chance to buy it if they want. I just know I'm going to win SOMETHING - thanks to Tyler!
I have made a few changes to this picture. Still not finished yet but have made progress.

"Phooie," I thought I had this cropped correctly but when I retrieved it ---------- it wasn't cropped! I have worked hard on this Google picture because I want to visit Florence some day. I'll have to bring the actual pic from the studio so I can download it on to the Virtual Paintout website properly (with the name of the road and all). I used my pallet knife and a brush to do this one. Using my knife is fun but is definitely not exact. It worked out well on this painting because it was a landscape. I'm pleased with the results!

Painting day for the whole group! Started a portrait of Jett Jones for his mom Lisa Harris-Jones. Hope to get most of it done today. I have several more paintings to start plus one for the Virtual Paintout that I am excited to paint because it is such a lovely view. It seems that a lot of the central parts of cities look similar and it is on the outskirts that I have found (with Google's help) some lovely scenery.
Hope to be able to post some results soon!

Finally finished with the Garage Sale ..... a success! The biggest success was that I now have 4 paintings of flowers on consignment in a small antique store in McKinney, TX. Took a few days to clean up and rest from all that HARD work. I wonder why I do it some times. Did make it to the studio today ... very late and painted maybe 30 minutes but then sat outside with Suzy and Mark and had a fun talk. I couldn't go another day without painting! Today is also my darling nephew, Kevin's birthday. Happy B-day, cutie!
